We believe everyone is equal, everyone deserves the best
Are you seeking an opportunity to play a major role in further developing teaching in a dynamic school? If so, St Mary’s CE High School is looking for a lead practitioner to join us after Easter 2021 in Maths. This role is a new post, created to further strengthen the existing Professional Development Team, which currently has four existing lead practitioners (in Humanities, Science, English and IT), led by the Deputy Headteacher with responsibility for standards in teaching.
The role will focus on strengthening the good foundations that are in place to take teaching in the school to the next level. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing teaching in their own, and other, subject areas, as well as leading high quality teaching CPD for the whole school (during INSET days and after school CPD sessions).
We are looking for an inspirational candidate who will be able to coach teachers and support their journey to excellence. Our vision is that “Through God’s love, we are the rich soil where seeds flourish and roots grow” and you would be an integral part of providing the support to enable all teaching colleagues to grow as professionals. You, in turn, would be supported to develop in your own career, receiving a bespoke initial induction, as well as opportunities to undergo your own CPD for this role. See our website for the Headteacher’s commitment to develop the staff (www.st-maryshigh.herts.sch.uk/staff-induction/)
Your key responsibilities will be to provide:
Support for teaching in your own subject area
Support for teaching in other subject areas
Whole-school INSET/CPD on the school’s priorities
Mentoring for NQTs and RQTs
Coaching more experienced staff to enable them to achieve excellence
Applicants do not need to be practising Christians, but would be expected to uphold our Christian principles of trust, forgiveness, compassion, thankfulness, friendship and love.
