Lead Practitioner in Science job summary

We are seeking to recruit an accomplished science teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning to be our Lead Practitioner in Science. Our Lead Practitioner will work alongside our Head of Science and our other middle leaders in the department.

Our Science Department includes 16 teachers, all specialists. Some of our team are new to the profession, others are more experienced teachers. All share the same vision namely to provide the very best teaching and learning opportunities to every young person in the school and college.

The Science Department works together to dismantle any barriers to learning learners may experience to enable every child to achieve success regardless of their starting point.

We are committed to providing every child and young person with enrichment opportunities designed to develop drive, resilience, aspiration, integrity and making a contribution to the wider community. Our programme includes pupil and student leadership roles as well as trips and visits, competitions, etc.
Our Lead Practitioners [we are also seeking to recruit a Lead Practitioner in Mathematics] will be creative, enthusiastic and highly motivated and demonstrate high professional standards.

We envisage that both of our Lead Practitioners will make a contribution to our Trust-wide Teaching and Learning Team led by our Deputy Head: Teaching, Learning and Assessment.

This is a really exciting time to join our Trust as a Lead Practitioner.

Closing Date: Open until filled. Please note that we will be running this as a rolling recruitment and selection process during the recruitment campaign, therefore please submit your application at your earliest opportunity.
