What skills and experience we're looking for
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) with a strong academic background in Mathematics (degree-level or higher).
- Outstanding classroom practitioner with a clear understanding of the Maths curriculum and pedagogy across KS3 and KS4.
- Proven track record of improving student outcomes through dynamic and innovative teaching practices.
- Experience in adapting, designing, and sharing high-quality teaching resources that are inclusive and engaging.
- Skilled in using active learning strategies and formative assessment techniques to promote high levels of student progress.
- Confident in using data and diagnostic approaches to evaluate teaching and learning, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategic interventions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships and influence change.
- Experience leading or contributing to staff development (e.g., CPL, coaching, mentoring).
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external agencies (e.g., SEN, EAL, social services).
- Experience of contributing to whole-school initiatives and curriculum development (desirable).
- Strong commitment to inclusion, equality of opportunity, and raising aspirations for all learners.
- ICT competence to support and enhance teaching and learning.
- Evidence of strategic thinking and leadership potential, including experience in planning and delivering training.
- Personal qualities of resilience, flexibility, and accountability, with a willingness to lead by example.
- Passion for teaching Mathematics and a clear commitment to personal professional growth.
