What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Practitioner Maths to support the Head of Maths in leading and developing high-quality teaching across the department.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in improving student outcomes at KS4 and KS5, with a focus on modelling exemplary teaching, providing targeted support, and shaping the curriculum to close emerging gaps. We would warmly welcome applications from both full time and part time candidates.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified teacher with experience in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of assessment data and ability to implement targeted interventions
  • Demonstrated ability to model high-quality teaching and support staff development
  • Knowledge of national developments in maths education
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head of Maths in leading and developing high-quality teaching
  • Provide targeted support to students in need of intervention
  • Model exemplary teaching and deliver relevant CPD for staff development
  • Shape the KS3 curriculum to close emerging gaps and adapt lessons effectively
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify staff development needs and design appropriate programmes
