What skills and experience we're looking for
A Lead Practitioner in an inspirational teacher for pupils and colleagues alike, with the track record to prove it. They are someone who is ambitious and highly motivated to lead others. The Lead Practitioner will do everything possible to raise the quality of teaching and learning in physics and in the wider school.
The mathematics department at Swanshurst is a highly successful one; students make above average rates of progress. We would expect the successful candidate to teach mathematics to the full ability range at key stage 3 and 4. We also offer further mathematics in Year 11, Level 3 mathematical studies, A-level mathematics and A-Level further mathematics. Lead Practitioners are expected to contribute to the work of the department leadership team and to our professional growth curriculum for all teaching staff, through delivery of whole school CPD and instructional coaching.

In our latest inspection, Ofsted found pupils at Swanshurst to be “happy, well cared for and that they secure excellent academic and personal outcomes” they described the girls as “polite, respectful and courteous”. Needless to say, we are incredibly proud of them and of all our staff who contribute to the “purposeful learning culture within the school that characterises the work of staff and pupils”

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.
