Lead Practitioner of Science job summary
William Edwards School is seeking to appoint a talented Science teacher to join our Lead Practitioner team.
The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner who is highly motivated and have a real passion for Science and for developing the subject and the practice of colleagues.
The Lead Practitioner Team form the backbone of the teaching and learning development work in the school and are well supported by both an experienced Assistant Headteacher and Department Leader. All Lead Practitioners have responsibilities both within and beyond their department and therefore the role provides outstanding professional development opportunities as well as providing an excellent opportunity for an ambitious colleague to develop their leadership skills further.
The Science Department has a strong track record of success built upon a strong and engaging curriculum. Pupil outcomes are consistently above the national average. The department have benefitted from significant investment in recent years and the school now boasts 9 well equipped and modern laboratories. This is an excellent opportunity for a forward-thinking colleague who is passionate about Science and professional development to harness their teaching skills in a supportive and dynamic school and Trust.
