What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking for aLead Practitioner - Sciencefor January 2025and warmly welcome applications from experienced teachers who are passionate about science and have a proven track record of exceptional outcomes at GCSE and A Level.
You will be joining a very passionate and effective team of teachers and leaders who work collaboratively to implement a digital IB curriculum with carefully planned interdisciplinary links with other departments.
We’d like to hear from candidates who are:
- An excellent leader who is passionate about learning and has strong subject knowledge within the science remit
- Collaborative, able to build strong professional relationships
- Able to motivate and inspire students and staff to achieve their full potential
- Energetic and have a can-do attitude
- Confident and has strong career aspirations
- Committed to safeguarding and the happiness and wellbeing of everyone at the Academy
- Prepared to be involved in leading co-curricular activities either within or outside of their teaching subject
What the school offers its staff
The Science team is part of Turing College (STEM subjects) and works closely with all other departments, particularly Maths, PE and Technology to ensure they deliver a highly ambitious, global curriculum with cross-curricular links.
We have an impressive Science department with state-of-the-art laboratories which are completely facilitated with all the practical equipment a scientist could dream of!

In September 2021, we opened our doors to the 180 founding students of our co educational comprehensive school for 11-18 year olds.
