Lead Practitioner – Science job summary
This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly-motivated and experienced classroom practitioner to join our dynamic and successful team. The post offers an exciting opportunity to work at our state of the art school.
Our ethos of ‘Ensuring Excellence’ is at the forefront of everything that we do. The successful candidate will be a knowledgeable and dedicated teacher who will support our Head of Department in raising standards of teaching and learning across the science department and there is potential for this to extend to other learning areas across the school.
The overarching purpose of the Lead Practitioner role is to raise standards and develop teaching and learning, ensuring that the aims of the Community Academies Trust are effectively translated into high quality classroom practice both within the subject and in general. Our staff are a team of driven and ambitious teachers who work collaboratively to drive up standards and develop themselves professionally through the extensive CPD opportunities afforded to them.

The successful candidate must have:
The ability to teach science up to KS4 with a sound knowledge of the AQA specification,
The capacity to work collaboratively as part of a developing team,
The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines,
Energy, enthusiasm and the ability to motivate others,
A passion for their subject that drives them to help pupils achieve their very best.
