What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the popularity of our oversubscribed schools we are seeking to recruit a Lead Practitioner to join our expanding Teaching and Learning Team. The Lead Practitioner will work with curriculum areas under the guidance of the curriculum or subject leaders to improve the quality of teaching and learning within the vocational subjects

This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an inspirational teacher to join our campus and further contribute to the life chances of young people in the school and across the Trust. It will support career development and provide opportunities for promotion within and across the schools

Subject specific responsibilities:

  • Working with BTEC subject teachers to raise student achievement and develop the teaching and learning of the BTEC and other vocational subjects (eg Cambridge Nationals)
  • Work with the Teaching and Learning team to embed quality first teaching within the vocational department.

  • To work with the Teaching and Learning BTEC lead at Greenshaw Learning Trust to provide CPD to the BTEC teachers across the campus
  • To work with the Senior Leader Raising Standards Leads at KS4 and KS5 to identify student interventions and ensure robust tracking and assessment of internal and external assessments.
  • To work with the Senior Leader Raising Standards to develop the calendar of assessments, clearly communicated to students, parents and staff.
  • To teach at least one of our vocational subjects (PE, Sports Science, Health & Social Care, Child Development, Music, Business, Travel and Tourism, IT)
