Post title: Lead Science Technician
Responsible to: Head of Department
Grade: 4 SCP 7-11
Hours: 37 hours per week, 8am – 4pm Monday to Thursday 8am – 3.30pm Friday
Term time only plus 10 days
Woodrush High School is looking to appoint a dedicated, well organised and enthusiastic Lead Science Technician to join our team. As a highly valued member of the team, you will play a crucial role in preparing resources and practical demonstrations which allow our teachers to deliver outstanding practical learning experiences for students, that ignite curiosity and foster a deep understanding of scientific principles from Key Stage 3 up to A Level.
In this role, you will oversee the efficient operation of the Science department's practical resources, ensuring they are well-maintained and readily available for teaching staff. Having a genuine interest in science and good communication skills are essential to ensure efficient collaboration with teaching staff, as you work together to develop and implement engaging practical activities that enrich the Science curriculum and promote student learning. Your commitment to safety will be paramount as you take responsibility for health and safety procedures within the Science laboratories, ensuring compliance with relevant and up to date regulations and best practices.
