Lead Speech and Language Therapist (Band 7 equivalent) job summary

The Rise Partnership Trust currently consists of three SEND schools and educates primary and secondary pupils with a wide range of speech, language, and communication needs. We believe that it is a priority for every pupil at our school to have a voice and be heard.

The work of our speech and language therapists has been highly praised during school OFSTED inspections:

“Staff plan activities around children’s interests. This motivates children and encourages children to communicate.” (Manor School OFSTED report 2020)

“All pupils learn life skills and communication in a way that prepares them for future independence.” (Manor School OFSTED report 2020)

“The speech and language therapists (SaLT), occupational therapists and inclusion team all work in unison with the teaching staff. Together they plan each pupil’s targets and support plans across these domains.” (The Avenue School OFSTED report 2023)

“Front and centre of the school’s work is to develop pupils’ communication skills. Staff apply a wide range of strategies across the school. These include pictorials, Makaton and high-tech augmentative and alternative communication.” (The Avenue School OFSTED report 2023)

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced and highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to lead our vibrant and welcoming trust team.

The ideal candidate will:

Have extensive clinical experience of managing a paediatric caseload

Have experience of supervising, managing and developing team members

Work closely and collaborate with members of our school’s senior leadership teams

Champion multi-disciplinary working

Be passionate about embedding speech and language therapy approaches across the school curriculum

Work with trust leaders to adapt and develop our speech and language therapy service in line with the needs of our pupils in a growing trust
