Priory is a very successful school with an excellent reputation. The school is consistently oversubscribed yet has a genuinely comprehensive intake. The Governors of this successful school seek to appoint a permanent, full-time, Lead Teacher for the AUTISM support facility to start in September 2020.
The role will be to lead the AUTISM facility team and to carry out the planning and assessment of children with AUTISM and associated learning difficulties, working jointly with key professionals from a range of services, both within and outside of ISEND Provider Services.
The successful applicant will have the:
• Qualified teacher status with an additional accredited post graduate qualification in speech, language and communication/Dyslexia/Autism qualification recognized by the BDA (ATS/AMBDA level).
• Ability to assess children and young people in the areas of AUTISM and associated learning difficulties, provide detailed support plans and programmes of intervention work in schools.
• Excellent communication skills and clear effective assessment skills. With experience of working collaboratively with other staff and agencies and advising school colleagues on supporting children and young people with AUTISM.
• Proven ability of Line Managing others and able to demonstrate leadership skills.
• Ability to analyse and problem solve, actively contributing to raising performance of children and young people with SEND.
• Recent substantial experience of working with children and young people with specific and complex needs (e.g. language and literacy needs) and evidence of successful outcomes.
The salary grade is Teachers Pay Scale, MPS/UPS, £24,373 to £40,490 plus SEN 2 allowance, £4,359 a year.
