What the school offers its staff

Are you ready for the next step in your career?

Do you want the opportunity to drive whole school improvement in a specific subject area?

Do you have the high expectations required to lead a year group?

Somers Heath Primary School is looking for a dynamic and driven teacher to lead a year group and a subject area across our school. Our well-behaved children need teachers who believe that all children, no matter their background, deserve an exceptional education.

Somers Heath is a two-form entry primary school with a newly refurbished building and a large site. This role will be a lead teacher for a year group and a whole school subject leader. The post holder will need to be an excellent class teacher who can be a model for the professional development of others in the school as well as a motivated subject leader who is able to inspire others through their passion for a subject.

As part of Catalyst Academies Trust, a small Thurrock based Multi-Academy Trust with high expectations for all our children, we can offer:

  • A £1,000 Catalyst welcome payment for successful candidates if you are appointed through a direct application to a Catalyst school (i.e. avoiding agency costs). This payment is allocated 6 months after you have been in post.
  • Access to our "Catalyst Employee Perks" platform where you will be able to access a range of discounts from regular supermarkets, numerous retailers, family days out, restaurants and more.
  • Excellent support networks.
  • Career development as a priority, with 80% of senior leaders in The Trust being promoted from within.

A visit to Somers Heath is encouraged for any applicant so you can find out more about the role and our school. Please contact the Headteacher via the school office to arrange an appointment 01708 853397

Information about the School

Visits to the school are both positively encouraged and warmly welcomed. Also, you are very welcome to have an informal, confidential discussion with Martin Curtis, our Headteacher about this vacancy. Please contact our school office on 01708 853397 or admin.shps@catrust.org.uk to arrange these. We are proud of our children and our facilities and confident that you will want to work here.

This is an exciting time to join our school. Over the past few years Somers Heath has expanded to provide two classes across all years, joined Catalyst Academies Trust and appointed a new Headteacher. We hope you would like to be part of our aim to provide outstanding education for all children.

Somers Heath is situated close to the M25 and A13 road links, near The Dartford Crossing and Lakeside Shopping Centre.

Catalyst Academies Trust are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children and young people. We expect all our staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be made a conditional offer subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical check, and references. Applicants will also be required to complete a 'Disqualification by Association' declaration.
