What skills and experience we're looking for
Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of primary education curricula and effective teaching strategies.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and evidence-based interventions for students with SLCN.
- Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, particularly those with additional speech and language needs.
- Experience in working collaboratively with other professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs).
- Leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a team of teaching assistants and support staff.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
- Strong assessment skills to monitor and track student progress, setting appropriate targets and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
