What skills and experience we're looking for

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of primary education curricula and effective teaching strategies.
  • Knowledge of speech and language development and evidence-based interventions for students with SLCN.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners, particularly those with additional speech and language needs.
  • Experience in working collaboratively with other professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists (SLTs) and special educational needs coordinators (SENCOs).
  • Leadership skills with the ability to guide, motivate, and support a team of teaching assistants and support staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to work effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Strong assessment skills to monitor and track student progress, setting appropriate targets and adjusting teaching strategies accordingly.
