Park Road Alternative Provision, part of the Midsomer Norton Schools Partnership, is seeking an exceptional AP Base Lead Teacher to lead and develop our alternative provision in Frome. This is a unique opportunity to shape the educational journey of students who require a tailored and supportive learning environment. About the Role:

As the AP Base Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for the quality of teaching, learning, and progress of students within the AP Base. You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring students have access to a curriculum that meets their needs and enables them to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a vision for the AP Base, ensuring high-quality provision.

  • Lead and monitor the quality of teaching and learning, ensuring effective differentiation and adaptive teaching.

  • Ensure a relevant and engaging curriculum that meets the needs of all students.

  • Oversee the delivery of effective intervention programmes, including 1:1 mentoring and group work.

  • Lead, manage, and develop the AP Base team, including performance management and training.

  • Oversee the provision of pastoral support, ensuring students' well-being and progress.

  • Promote high standards of behaviour and attendance.

  • Lead and manage transition processes, including reintegration into mainstream education.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with parents, carers, and external agencies.

  • Ensure the safeguarding and well-being of all students.

  • Manage the human and fiscal resources of the AP Base effectively.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Proven leadership and management experience ideally in an SEND/AP setting.

  • Experience working with students with diverse needs, particularly those requiring alternative provision.

  • Strong understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to 1 build positive relationships with students, staff, 2 and parents/carers
