What skills and experience we're looking for

Join East Anglia’s “State Secondary School of the Year” 2020

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading comprehensive schools, recently ranked third nationally in the Sunday Times’ ParentPower publication. As a result of the continued expansion of the College, we are looking for a passionate and dedicated Lead Teacher of Business and Economics to join our forward-thinking and highly collaborative faculty, part of a unique, dynamic and innovative village college on the edge of Cambridge.

What the school offers its staff

For the right candidate, we can offer:

  • A reduced teaching load for all staff (maximum 40 hours per fortnight, the equivalent of at least one free period every day) and a generous allocation of time for leadership responsibilities
  • One hour a week of subject CPD timetabled into the College day as part of your timetabled allocation, avoiding weekly twilight sessions
  • A minimum of one paid ‘family day’ per year to use as you choose, with the possibility of term time leave by negotiation, and the chance to work from home by agreement
  • £1000 bursary for personal CPD, including funding for a Masters qualification (or equivalent) and the opportunity to access bespoke leadership training and coaching to support progression into senior leadership
  • A genuine commitment to wellbeing, with a strong track record in supporting positive mental health and high levels of staff retention and promotion (twice awarded the Carnegie Gold Medal)
  • Subsidised access to our on-site Sports Centre and swimming pool, available for use throughout the day, as well as regular staff social events, discounted food and free coffee/tea
