Lead Teacher of Nursery ASD Provision job summary
Acorns is a new provision for nursery aged children with Autism which has been added to the school to complement its already excellent SEND provision.
This person will play a key role, supported by the Headteacher and Inclusion Manager, in opening and maximising the success of our new specialist provision for up to eight nursery aged children with Autism or on a pathway to receiving a diagnosis of Autism. The provision is due to open in September 2021 for a small number of children (up to four) and it will expand in size from there. The provision will be situated in a newly redesigned section in the heart of the school building.
The successful candidate will be a talented, passionate and suitably experienced practitioner. They must have a clear understanding and experience of effective teaching and learning as well as of raising and sustaining achievement within specialist Autism provision. They must be a strong communicator and team player and able to engage effectively with the children, staff and parents/ carers on a daily basis. They will also need to be enthusiastic, highly motivated and have the belief in the potential of every individual child as well as the drive to support all children to become the best they can be.
You will be joining a friendly and hardworking team who constantly strive to raise standards for the children and themselves within a successful primary school.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020, as the work involves with children who are regarded by the Act as a vulnerable group.
