LEAD TEACHER OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
Start date: Easter / September 2020
Salary: L1 – L8 (point dependent upon experience)
Contract term: Permanent. Contract type: Full Time

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated Lead Teacher of RE to assist the Head of Faculty with the next step in the department’s development. The right candidate will be an exceptional teacher of RE with a commitment to academic excellence and inspiring a love of Theology in young people. They will play a pivotal role in securing the very best outcomes for the faculty. We are looking for someone who will be significantly involved in providing an enriched curriculum and opportunities to stretch and challenge all students.

Essential qualifications

Teaching experience at Key Stages 3 and 4.
A good track record of recent professional development.

Essential skills and experience

A minimum of 2 years teaching experience.
Experience of monitoring the quality of students work and setting appropriate challenge to assist learning.
The ability to introduce and embrace new teaching and learning styles to develop students of all abilities.
Evidence of use of variety of teaching and learning styles to develop outstanding practice.
Experience of contributing to the professional development, coaching and mentoring of colleagues.
Clear vision for the development of teaching and learning, using innovative and creative approaches.
Ability to implement effective strategies to achieve improved outcomes.
Proven ability to raise standards in classrooms other than their own. Ability to motivate students.
Previous experience of leading teaching and learning initiatives beyond own classroom.
Ability to interpret data relating to student performance and attendance, and be able to translate this into successful teaching and learning strategies.
