Lead Teacher (Outreach) job summary
The school is seeking to appoint a motivated and inspirational teacher, leader, and manager to run the school’s extensive outreach programme to realise the widening participation and outreach vision and ambitions for the school.
The Lead Teacher of Outreach is responsible for managing the school’s outreach programmes and for leading the team delivering them. They lead by example in delivering programmes themselves and demonstrating outstanding teaching. They will take responsibility for ensuring there is a full scheme of work in place and the session contents are of a high quality. This will be in part through creating content themselves but also by working with the other teachers and in particular the Physics Outreach Coordinator and Maths Outreach Coordinator.
The Lead Teacher of Outreach will work closely with the Director of Outreach and Widening Participation to ensure the strategic outcomes of the outreach. An important next step for the school’s outreach strategy is to build close working relationships with local schools and the Lead Teacher of Outreach will be responsible for creating and managing some of these relationships.
The Lead Teacher (Outreach) post is a part-time post (0.6-0.8FTE, or 3-4 days per week). For the appropriately qualified and skilled candidate there is the opportunity to extend the post to a full-time post by teaching mathematics or physics to KCLMS classes.
