Are you passionate about inclusion and making a real difference for children with autism? Do you have the creativity, compassion, and leadership to guide a dedicated team in a nurturing, purpose-built environment?

Monks Orchard Primary School is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced teacher to lead The Hive– our Enhanced Learning Provision (ELP) for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The Hive is at the heart of our school community and offers an exciting, spacious, and enriching setting for up to 25 pupils from Reception to Year 6.

Most children access mainstream provision for part of the day with tailored support. The Hive is situated next to our Forest School and provides the ideal environment for holistic learning and development.

The Role

  • Plan and deliver a broad, balanced, and engaging curriculum tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with the mainstream school team to ensure successful integration where appropriate.
  • Work closely with families, external professionals, and the Croydon SEN panel to secure the best outcomes for each child.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding and pupil welfare.

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with experience in special education or inclusive mainstream practice.
  • A deep understanding of autism and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Creativity, resilience, and a child-centred approach.
  • A reflective mindset and commitment to ongoing professional development.

What the school offers its staff

In return, we offer:

  • A supportive leadership team and collaborative staff culture.
  • A purpose-built provision with great facilities.
  • The opportunity to work with our ELP SENCo and support to pursue the NPQ in SENCo leadership.
  • A chance to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families.

To really understand what makes The Hive special, we warmly welcome you to come and visit us. Please contact the school office on 0208 654 2570 to arrange a time – we would love to meet you.
