Leader of Department, Art & Photography job summary

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Leader of Department for Art & Photography, to lead a highly successful department, and enthuse and motivate students to achieve their best. Art & Photography are highly successful subject areas with strong outcomes at key stages 4 and 5.

The successful candidate will:-

  • be a role model of outstanding Art and/or Photography teaching, passionate about the success of young people in the subject(s)
  • have the highest expectations for all young people;
  • be able to enthuse, engage, motivate and challenge students and staff to raise achievement at all levels;
  • be energetic and dynamic with vision and leadership qualities;
  • be able to plan, maintain and develop outstanding teaching and learning in the department;
  • contribute to whole school success;
  • be part of the wider Education South West Art leadership team.
