Childhaven Nursery School (109 on roll) is a unique and special place. Set in the busy town centre of Scarborough, we serve a varied catchment where children from many different walks of life explore, play and learn together.

We are proud to be one of only 3 Maintained Nursery Schools in the whole of North Yorkshire. As a school we are involved in work nationally through the Scarborough Teaching Alliance, and also with other Maintained Nursery Schools across the country as we fly the flag for providing Outstanding Early Years Education. We are the local leader of the Early Years Hub and were designated an outstanding school in 2012, 2015 and 2019.

We celebrate childhood in all its forms and we have a hard working and dedicated team who strive to understand children and put them at the heart of everything that we do. Our staff are long-serving and have mostly dedicated their whole career to this special place. All of our decision-making is based on enabling all children, regardless of need, to have the absolute best possible start in life. We are a forward thinking and fun loving team.
