Job Title: Leader of Inclusion and Welfare
Contract Type: Fixed Term Contract to cover maternity leave
Salary Range: UPS1 with TLR

We are currently recruiting for a Leader of Inclusion and Welfare to lead on Safeguarding and all matters regarding pupils with SEND.
Specifically, you will be responsible for:
• Having a strategic overview of provisions for pupils with SEN or a disability across the school, monitoring and reviewing the quality of provisions
• As DSL you will take lead responsibility for safeguarding and child protection across the school including strategy discussions, inter-agency meetings and supporting the assessment of children
• Providing professional guidance and support to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies
To be successful, you will have:
• Qualified teacher status with significant experience in the primary sector
• Experience of dealing with safeguarding issues in a school as DSL, Deputy DSL or DSP
• Experience of using Myconcern
• Expert knowledge of legislation and guidance on safeguarding and working with young people, including knowledge of the responsibilities of schools and other agencies
• Excellent record keeping skills and attention to detail, in order to produce reports, take minutes of meetings, and document safeguarding concerns
• Knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice, equal opportunities and disability discrimination legislation and how these apply to pupils with Statements as well as those without
