Learning and Pastoral Support Assistant job summary

We are looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant to join our committed team in supporting our students aged 14-19. You will ensure that the students can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by their peers in the class and make progress. 


Duties will include the running specific programmes and activities to assist the students’ individual learning and social needs in liaison with the class teachers and the iHub Coordinator. You will have high expectations and be dedicated to student progress, with a strong belief that understanding a student is key to motivating their learning. Work may be carried out in the classroom or outside the main teaching area. 

Managing behaviour is an integral part of this role which requires you to be self-assured with the ability to deal with sometimes challenging situations. Candidates must have GCSE English and mathematics or equivalent qualifications.
