Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for a dedicated individual to provide tailored support to our pupils. You will be committed to making a positive difference to young people’s lives and in supporting and developing their learning. Your intervention will help enable an outstanding learning environment for our young people, providing the support they need to succeed.
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with excellent organisational and technical skills. You will have the ability to effectively support learning and teaching, and to develop relationships across our school and the Star community.
You will have:
- NVQ Level 2 Teaching Assistant or equivalent and5 good GCSEs including English and Maths.
- Experience of working with children in a school setting.
- Working knowledge of the National Curriculum.
- The ability to work one to one, in small groups and with whole classes.
- The ability to contribute effectively to teachers’ planning and preparation of lessons.

The Olive School, Blackburn is a 630 place Muslim faith based primary school. The school opened in September 2013 with 90 Reception, 90 Year 1 and 60 Year 2 children. It will build up its pupil numbers year on year. It has a caring, inclusive ethos and welcomes applications from parents and pupils of all faiths and none. Like all Star schools, it has “Leadership” as a specialism. The school has the highest expectations. Children get one chance for an education and the school is determined to ensure it is the best. High quality teaching and learning opportunities enable children to fulfil their true potential and develop a love for learning. The Olive School, Blackburn was assessed as “outstanding” in every category at its first Ofsted inspection in June 2015.
