What the school offers its staff
St James Academy has a strong caring ethos ensuring high levels of support for learners creating an atmosphere of mutual respect throughout the academy. Its philosophy is to embrace the talents of all its learners to ensure the success for all through outstanding teaching and positive behaviour.
Dudley Academies Trust was formed in September 2017 under the sponsorship of Dudley College of Technology. Our Trust schools are St James Academy, The Link Academy, Pegasus Academy, Beacon Hill Academy, Blowers Green and Kate’s Hill Primary. The Trust when combined with the sponsor, annually supports 8,500 young people aged 4 to 19 years old and employs almost 1,300 staff.
As a Trust we are highly centralised, which means that all of our systems and processes are aligned. Everything we do is developed collaboratively involving many professionals and experts who work together across the Trust, all striving to provide the highest quality provision for our learners.
Teaching and Learning is supported by a central team of Subject Directors who are experienced teachers with leadership and mentoring skills who work across our academies supporting teachers in their personal development, data analysis and curriculum planning. Subject Directors have specific areas of focus such as Mathematics, Science, Reading, Writing and History.
The Trust recognises that our staff are our most valuable asset and investing in our people is a key strategic priority for the Trust. A common and extensive programme of staff development operates across the Trust, this is extended to senior and middle leaders, aspiring leaders, teaching and support staff and non-qualified teachers.
You will be joining the Trust at an exciting time as we are continuing our journey to provide a first-class education for the young people of Dudley, with outstanding teaching and learning being the Trust’s foremost priority.
