About the role

As a Learning Mentor, you will:

  • Provide highly skilled support and interventions to remove barriers to learning, ensuring every young person can thrive.
  • Take a lead role in areas such as safeguarding, attendance and engagement, advising the Senior Leadership Team and contributing to whole-school systems.
  • Work in close partnership with families and multi-agency professionals, ensuring a strong, joined-up approach to supporting our students.
  • Lead on transition planning, from induction into the school through to students’ next destinations.
  • Line manage and support other staff, contributing to a positive, professional culture.

About you

We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

  • Advanced safeguarding knowledge and experience of tasks delegated from a DSL.
  • A track record of improving attendance, engagement and outcomes for children and families.
  • The ability to plan and deliver interventions, and to work effectively with external agencies.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage staff and systems.
