Our Opportunity
We have a vacancy for a Grade E Learning Mentor.The post is 12-month Fixed term, with the possibility of extending the time period.
The successful candidate will work within our Inclusion Team and alongside our other Learning Mentors to assess, support, guide and mentor individual or small group of pupils who require additional support to overcome barriers to learning, to achieve their full potential.
The role will involve supporting the attendance team to challenge poor attendance and punctuality by sending letters, phoning parents, conducting home visits and conducting panel meetings with parents as part of the monitoring process. Full training will be given.
The successful candidate will support our vulnerable pupils who need support through Early Help by identifying the needs, meeting parents and implementing action plans to overcome barriers, signposting and referring to external services as appropriate. Full training will be given.
You will have experience of providing one to one or small group support with the more challenging pupils who are having performance, attendance or behavioural issues that are affecting their learning, to help them overcome the barriers to learning and improve their education. You will have experience of working in a classroom, adapting the activities to meet the individual's needs as assessed.
