Are you keen to encourage a passion and enthusiasm for literature and reading? We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Learning Resource Centre Manager who is committed to partnering our teaching staff in promoting reading for pleasure, supporting literacy initiatives and ensuring that our Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is accessible and attractive to our very engaged students. Our LRC Manager also supports and promotes literacy, reading and writing extra-curricular activities as well as managing our digital access to promote reading.
The ideal candidate will be meticulous in their librarianship skills, caring for our print and digital resources. At the same time, they will enjoy books and read multiple genres themselves, and be able to research and recommend appropriate books to our highly motivated and diverse students.
We are looking for excellent IT skills, a desire and ability to work carefully and accurately, and a warm, friendly manner.
The LRC Manager works five days a week during term time: 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday, and 9am to 3pm on Fridays (with half an hour’s break for lunch). There is also the requirement to work an additional two PD days.
Previous experience of working with young people is an advantage.
