Learning Support Assistant
Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1-6 (£15,579.48 - £16,742.36 per annum)
30 hours per week - Monday – Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
38 weeks of the year – term time plus inset days
Start date: 18th November 2024
Fixed term contract until 31st August 2025
A new opportunity has arisen for a Learning Support Assistant to join our successful team, supporting students in the classroom environment. The role will involve working with SEND children, to assist students learning and improve educational outcomes. Bonnygate Primary School are looking for inspiring and enthusiastic LSA’s who are highly motivated, creative, fun and ideally someone who is keen to progress their career.

This position will involve:
- Supporting pupils, to ensure they are engaged in learning activities
- Promoting the inclusion and acceptance of all students within the classroom
- Acting as a role model, setting high expectations of conduct and promoting positive pupil behaviour, to create a safe and inclusive learning environment
- Providing feedback to the classroom teacher on the pupil’s progress against lesson plans, the conduct of the lesson and keeping pupil-related records
- Dealing with any immediate problems or emergencies according to the school’s policies and procedures about health & safety, welfare and wellbeing and safeguarding
- Providing additional support to the teachers in the classrooms,
- Establishing positive relationships with the pupils in lessons being covered
The successful candidate will:

- Be a great communicator with excellent organisational skills and a helpful attitude

- Have excellent written skills with the ability to multi-task
- Have the ability to remain calm under pressure and remain positive
- Have the ability to follow safeguarding procedures and prioritise students’ welfare
- Have achieved GCSE Maths and English
