What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our strong, friendly and motivated staff team. As a Learning Support Assistant you will work under the direction of the class teacher with the SENCO as line manager. You duties will include working with groups of children, supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons.
We invite applications from Learning Support Assistants who:
- Are experienced in supporting pupils with social communication and behavioural difficulties
- Are able to support children’s self-esteem, inclusion and behavioural development
- Are patient, calm, organised and adaptable
- Work well as part of a team
- Are able to use their own initiative as well as take direction
- Are enthusiastic and have a positive outlook
- Are creative and able to motivate children
- Have excellent communication skills
What the school offers its staff
Alderbury and West Grimstead School (AWGS) is located 4 miles to the east of Salisbury and enjoys a delightful semirural location. The school recently turned 25 years old and we were delighted to be able to plant a jubilee copse to mark our silver jubilee.
