We are looking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Personalised Learning SEND faculty. We are oversubscribed in Year 7 every year which reflects the first-class facilities we have on site as well as our fantastic students and staff who make the school a great place to learn. Ofsted visited Baysgarth in October 2017 and concluded that we are a Good school which ‘has gone from strength to strength’ and is making ‘good progress on the journey to outstanding’. In terms of student achievement, Ofsted reported that ‘Overall progress was in the top 10% nationally … [and] current pupils are making strong progress in all year groups.’ The DfE have concluded that ‘there is no better performing similar school within 75 miles of Baysgarth’ and it is our mission to recruit the most talented staff to continue this progress.
The role of Learning Support Assistant is key in providing high quality learning experiences at all times for our students.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Supporting individuals or groups of students to access all areas of the curriculum
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff to create outstanding learning opportunities
• Delivering 1:1 or group targeted interventions
• Communicating student progress to a range of stakeholders
• Supervising pupils during breaks, lunchtimes and extra-curricular activities
The following qualifications and experience are essential:
• GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent) Grade C or above
• Experience of working with students with additional needs within a secondary school
• Knowledge and awareness of KS2 and post 16 education
• Knowledge of how students learn and how additional needs might impact on this
• Using ICT to support students’ learning
• Using differentiation strategies to support a range of learning needs effectively
Baysgarth School is currently an 11-16 comprehensive with approximately 930 pupils on roll. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate pride, passion and positivity and a desire to ensure the school has the highest possible reputation in the local community and beyond.
