What skills and experience we're looking for

• Qualifications
  • NVQ 2 in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent

  OR

  • Able to demonstrate the ability to meet the STL Level 2 National Occupational Standards relevant to this post.
  Level 2 qualifications in maths/numeracy and English/literacy
• Experience of supporting teaching and learning in a formal setting
• Knowledge of child protection and health and safety procedures.
• Ability and willingness to undertake professional development.Good interpersonal skills.
• • Empathy with children and young people.
  • An understanding of, and commitment to, Equal Opportunities, and the ability to apply this to strategic work and day-to-day situations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • ELSA qualification or the willingness to undertake the qualification

Burton on-the-Wolds is a very special place to work and learn. We have 191 children on roll who are taught in single age group classes. We are situated in the small village of Burton-on-the-Wolds near to Loughborough, Leicestershire.
The school has extensive grounds and we have access to the village plantation for our Forest Schools sessions. We work closely with five other schools in the local area (Foxes Collaborative) to provide wider opportunities for our children and to improve teaching and learning in our schools.
Our school was judged as 'outstanding' in 2018 by Ofsted and we continue to develop our inspiration curriculum offer to ensure that we meet our aims of "Inspire, Nurture, Flourish".
