Cheadle Hulme Primary School is a growing free school that first opened in September 2018 and has been going from strength to strength ever since!
We were originally founded and are now a proud member of the Laurus Trust. We echo the Trusts vision and continue to strive “for everyone, regardless of background or circumstance, to be inspired, to thrive in all environments, to recognise what it takes to succeed, to set aspirational goals and to work hard to achieve them.”

Cheadle Hulme Primary School is a hugely oversubscribed, non-selective, non-denominational, two form entry Free School with a maximum class size of 30 pupils. Two Reception classes are added each academic year until the school becomes a 420-pupil primary school from Reception to Year Six in September 2024. There are currently 300 pupils on roll. The school also offers a small Pre-School setting. Our pupils benefit from a purpose-built building with access to state-of-the-art facilities, overlooking Bruntwood Park. We are co-located with our sister secondary, Laurus Cheadle Hulme High School.

At Cheadle Hulme Primary School we strongly believe that it is our responsibility to prepare our pupils with the skills and attitudes that will help them become successful, happy and confident learners and citizens.

We work to "prepare our children for a world we know and a world yet to be discovered" and we do this through a broad, balanced and memorable school curriculum.

We have identified four ‘Curriculum Drivers’ – elements that are integral to our school Enrichment Curriculum. These are:

· Collaboration – to learn from each other, to support each other, to be successful together

· Possibilities – to change ourselves, to challenge each other, to push boundaries

· Respect – to understand ourselves, to appreciate each other, to value diversity

· Technology – to learn, to communicate, to create

As well as being unashamedly academic, Laurus schools focus on developing each pupil’s self-confidence and oracy skills. We inspire our pupils to broaden their horizons and to believe that ‘anything is possible’ because we understand that this is the key to post-education success.

Professional Development

We attach huge importance to continued Professional Learning and recognise that, in the exciting and ever-changing environment in which we work, we are all learners and are constantly looking for ways to improve our practice.

Our comprehensive programme of in-house Professional Learning comprises weekly pedagogy-based sessions, Further Professional Learning sessions, opportunities to coach and mentor and to engage in research.

Being part of a Multi Academy Trust enables our staff to work across schools and phases. Not only does this broaden their experience, it opens up a wider range of leadership opportunities.

As a Trust we actively develop our teachers through nationally accredited programmes such as the NPQ's and many of our staff have completed courses at Masters level.

If you want to work in a highly ambitious and successful school, and believe you have the vision and commitment to join our team, then we would like to hear from you.
