Learning Support Assistant - Fixed Term job summary

Forres Primary Academy is part of the Spiral Partnership Trust which is a community of schools formed in 2016 with Excellent Teaching and Learning, Always and Everywhere at its heart. We aim to provide a rich and stimulating learning environment and strongly believe that a positive start to a child’s education impacts significantly on their engagement and attitudes to learning.

We are currently looking to recruit a Learning Support Assistant who can work across all phases with pupils wit Special Educational Needs. This contract is to cover 5 days a week with the hours of 10:00 am to 3.30pm with 30 minutes for lunch, totaling 27.5 hours per week. The job will include covering lunch duties.

The salary is above the local authority rates and is a 40 week contract.

Responsibilities:

• Work with individuals or small groups of pupils in the positivity classroom under the direct supervision of teaching staff and provide feedback to the teacher
• Support pupils to understand instructions support independent learning and inclusion of all pupils
• Support the teacher in behavior management and keeping pupils on task
• Support pupils in social and emotional well-being, reporting problems to the teacher as appropriate
• Prepare and clear up learning environment and resources, including photocopying, filing and the display and presentation of pupils work and contribute to maintaining a safe environment
