Job title: Learning Support Assistant
Job location: Foundry Lane Primary School
Working Hours: 27.5 Hours per week, 08:45am – 15:15pm, Monday to Friday
Working Weeks: Term Time only + INSET Days (39 weeks)
Pay: Grade C - £24,405 to £25,430 FTE per annum (Actual annual salary £15,557.55 to £16,210.96) depending on experience.

- The most suited candidate will bring enthusiasm, positivity, patience and humour as well as an understanding of child development.
- They will be proactive and use their initiative, be a team player and be flexible within the job role.
- They will uphold the school's ethos, mission, and values.
- Formal qualifications in child development or supporting teaching and learning will be an advantage, but training and development is provided to successful applicants in order to support them and provide the very best for our children.
- A good standard of English and Mathematics is essential in order to be able to deal with the demands of the curriculum.
- The ability to foster a classroom environment that embraces diversity and promotes mutual respect among children.
- Good communication skills, being able to communicate sensitively and effectively with parents/carers, keeping them apprised of their child's progress and concerns, as agreed by the class teacher
Responsibilities:
- Provide indispensable support to the class teacher, assisting in the delivery of the curriculum and fostering a positive learning environment.
- Instill positive values, attitudes, and good behaviour, handling incidents as per the school behaviour policy.
- Support the teacher in assessments, documenting observations and tracking pupil progress.
- Cover whole classes occasionally during the short-term absence of teachers, maintaining continuity of learning.
- Assist in the planning and execution of school events and extracurricular activities.
- Keep up to date with the curriculum, incorporating new learning strategies and resources.
- Execute 1:1 and/or small group interventions, identifying and addressing individual learning needs as required.
- Oversee and engage children at lunch, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable mealtime experience.
- Adhere to all school policies, including health and safety, confidentiality, and data protection protocols.
