What skills and experience we're looking for

We have a number of vacancies in our SEN department to support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs at KS3/KS4 in a mainstream context. The post holder will work with students who have learning, social and behavioural difficulties and support them across the curriculum.

The ideal candidates should demonstrate resilience, initiative, patience and a passion for working with and assisting young people to learn. There are good opportunities for career progression and previous experience is not essential. Candidates must have proven literacy and numeracy skills, equivalent to GCSE grade C and above.

This post is particularly aimed at those looking to gain experience of working in a secondary school setting or at graduates considering a future career in teaching. The role of the Learning Support Assistant is valued by pupils, parents and staff at Toynbee.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a school that is building on its already successful results and reputation within the local community. We have an excellent track record of developing and supporting our staff to progress both professionally and in their careers.
