What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, conscientious and caringLearning Support Assistant. A start date of September 2023 is possible. Flexibility to work throughout the school is required.

The successful candidate will:

  • build positive relationships with all children
  • have high expectations of bothchildren and themselves
  • be effective at helping children to understand and learn concepts using different approaches e.g. concrete resources, pictures, songs etc.
  • be motivated, flexible and be able to use their own initiative
  • possess strong interpersonal skills and have a keen sense of humour
  • work collaboratively with staff
  • have a commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school
  • have GCSE English and Maths at grade C or above
  • ideally have experience of working with children in an educational setting


What the school offers its staff

The successful candidate will find themselves among supportive and welcoming staff, parents and governors. Training will be available in specific interventions for children with special needs.

The hours will be 8:15am – 3:15pm with a half hour lunch break. Supervision of the childrenat lunchtime will be part of the job role.
