Learning Support Assistant (LSA2) job summary
We are really excited about being able to expand our Learning Support team once again and we are inviting applications from people who want to make a difference to children’s lives.
Classroom support is no longer seen just as ‘help’; our classroom assistants work very closely with our teachers to help meet the needs of the different children in a class. It’s a very rewarding role and no day is ever the same. We like to share good practice across our two schools and help out our colleagues when required. We are like a big family and we’re looking for new people to join the fun!
You may have some experience working with children already but it is ok if you don’t. What’s important is the right attitude, being able to build relationships and helping children thrive, in a safe and caring environment. You will learn lots of strategies and techniques from the teachers and your colleagues along the way.
Our children are well-behaved and a joy to work with. Often, visitors will comment on the calm learning environment and good relationships they see. You must come and see for yourself!
Commitment to safeguarding
John Keble Church of England Primary School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

Ampfield School and John Keble School, Hursley, joined together in a federation at the beginning of the academic year 2013. We are excited about how we can continue to grow together and be efficient in our promotion and support for high quality learning and teaching in both schools. Moments away from each other, the two schools are different in character but share the same philosophy and values. Ampfield is a very small primary school, with two classes and a very unique context. John Keble is a smaller than average primary school with six classes.
