Learning Support Assistant (LSA2) job summary
We are really excited about being able to expand our Learning Support team once again and we are inviting applications from people who want to make a difference to children’s lives.
Ampfield School is one of the smallest schools in the county, with the majority of our children travelling to be with us. That means we have a small team of dedicated teachers and support assistants who work together like a little family. We may have a small number of children but they keep us busy and give us joy every day! When you work in such a unique setting, you have to be flexible, love children’s quirks, be prepared to learn about how children develop and learn something new every day.
You may have some experience working with children already but it is ok if you don’t. What’s important is the right attitude, being able to build relationships and helping children thrive, in a safe and caring environment. You will learn lots of strategies and techniques from the teachers and your colleagues along the way.
Our children love working with our friendly and caring staff. They enjoy the support from adults who can help them work hard and grow as a person. As adults, we love to laugh and are able to see the funny side when things get tough. We’d love someone new to join us so that they can add further sparkle to our little team.
Commitment to safeguarding
Ampfield Church of England Primary School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

Ampfield CofE Primary is a very small village school, with most children travelling from out of the catchment to join us. Catering for a wide range of needs across two classes, Ampfield is a unique setting. As such, staff and children build strong, trusting relationships; like being in a little family.
Established in 1895, the school joined neighbouring John Keble CofE Primary School in a federation in September 2013. Staff at both schools work together to help children thrive, with a distinctly Christian ethos.
