Learning Support Assistant (LSA2) job summary
We are really excited about being able to expand our Learning Support team once again and we are inviting applications from people who want to make a difference to children’s lives. We’ve already been successful at recruiting new LSAs to the team but we need more!
Classroom support is no longer seen just as ‘help’; our classroom assistants work very closely with our teachers to help meet the needs of the different children in a class. It’s a very rewarding role and no day is ever the same. We like to share good practice across our two schools and help out our colleagues when required. We are like a big family and we’re looking for new people to join the fun!
You may have some experience working with children already but it is ok if you don’t. What’s important is the right attitude, being able to build relationships and helping children thrive, in a safe and caring environment. You will learn lots of strategies and techniques from the teachers and your colleagues along the way.
Our children are well-behaved and a joy to work with. Often, visitors will comment on the calm learning environment and good relationships they see. You must come and see for yourself!
Commitment to safeguarding
John Keble Church of England Primary School and Hampshire County Council are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment. All successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service checks along with other relevant employment checks.

John Keble CofE Primary School is a smaller than average school, with six classes. Established in the village of Hursley since 1839, the school is well-positioned between the lovely city of Winchester and the thriving market town of Romsey.
The school is part of a federation, with neighbouring Ampfield CofE Primary School as its partner. Just two miles apart, the staff of both schools work together for the best of the children, within a caring Christian ethos.
We welcome applications from our wonderfully diverse community.
