Learning Support Assistant job summary
As an LSA you will play a significant part in helping co-create sustainable change in our students, building their ‘passport to their future’.
You will have a passion for inclusion and want to make a difference for children and young people who find accessing learning within a mainstream environment challenging, displaying challenging behaviour and/or significant absenteeism. You will be working within the classroom and independently supporting the learning, personal and emotional development of our students.

The Albany is a school for 66 children and young people aged 11 to 16 who have significant social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Some of our students are within our Alternative Provision cohort, while others are placed within our SEMH specialist provision. We have a strong family feel, with positive regard for each other, with effective relationships at the centre of all we do. Our curriculum is designed to meet the SEMH and learning needs of our students and enable them to make both academic and personal progress. It is a school where you can be who you are, have your needs met, gain a sense of belonging and achieve.
