What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our ever-growing department to motivate and inspire pupils to achieve their best.

The Position

We are looking for someone who would enjoy working to enable pupils' access to learning by supervising and assisting pupils (one to one and in small groups) across a wide range of activities and supported learning activities. To promote the development of the physical and mental well-being of pupils as directed by a teacher.

What the school offers its staff

The school itself is an oversubscribed high achieving school in Leigh on Sea and offers teachers the chance to develop their craft as subject teachers. There is great value placed on the experience of learning; extensive CPD opportunities are available both internally and externally and are tailored to meet the individual needs of teachers. The pupils who attend the school are impressive, well-mannered, and caring.

As a school, we are committed to developing the whole person. The academy is a place where leadership support staff to really engage pupils in their learning and develop as a teacher. Staff mobility is incredibly low. We value our staff and understand the pressures associated with teaching, as such, staff mobility is incredibly low. The academy also provides a range of well-being support and facilities including use of the fitness suite, swimming pool and Employee Assistance Programme.

Commitment to safeguarding

Shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online search to help identify information that is publicly available online which the Academy might want to explore with the candidate at interview. Further, we are fully committed to safeguarding and the successful candidate will be expected to undertake the appropriate pre-employment checks, including an Enhanced DBS and Barred List check.
