What skills and experience we're looking for
We are looking to appoint flexible, enthusiastic and emotionally literate support staff members to join our supportive team and to make a real difference to our children. The roles will involve providing individualised and flexible support with children and their learning both in and out of the classroom. The posts will also involve supervising children on some lunchtimes as a lunchtime supervisory assistant. Working some additional afternoons will also be discussed and negotiated at interview.
The posts are available for either an immediate start or as soon as possible for the right candidate who will need to give notice from their current position.
The successful applicants will:
• Have recent experience of working with primary school children
• Be committed to supporting individual children's learning
• GCSE or equivalent Grade C or above in Maths and English
• Be patient, cheerful and understanding
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Have a calm and kind manner
• Encourage independence
• Be able to form strong relationships with children
• Have ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team
• Understand and appreciate the need for confidentiality
• Be able to clarify and explain instructions clearly
• Adapt learning according to the needs and interests of individual pupils
• Liaise with outside agencies alongside the class teacher and/or SENCO
