What skills and experience we're looking for
Pembroke is at an exciting junction, boasting a vibrant and supportive culture. With a recent "good" rating from Ofsted in 2022 and a significant growth in pupil numbers, we're proud to announce an opportunity to join our learning support team. The postholder will provide responsive and high-quality one to one support for a pupil with hearing impairments and other special educational needs so that they have the opportunity to efficiently and successfully access information and the environment around them. You will ideally have level 1 or 2 BSL qualification with a view to progressing to level 3. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning journey of students across all year groups. Your responsibilities will include facilitating access to learning, assisting teachers in managing pupils and the classroom environment. Limited experience is not a barrier; we provide training and support. This is an exciting time to join Pembroke and contribute to our ongoing success. If you're passionate about making a positive impact on young lives and thrive in a supportive environment, we encourage you to apply.
Applicants should be computer literate and have worked with MS Word, Outlook and Excel and a grade A-C in GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) is essential.
