We are an Alternative Provision Academy based in Oxfordshire working with children from aged 5 to 16. We call our Learning Support Assistants ‘Mentors’ at Meadowbrook. They support our students to re-engage with their learning by helping them to overcome the difficulties that present as barriers to their learning and success in school. Learning Mentors may also be involved in supporting students with safeguarding issues by attending associated meetings; experience of or willingness to support at multi-agency meetings and linking with the family would be desirable.

You will be part of a passionate and dedicated team making a real difference to young people’s lives. We are looking for someone who has possesses a variety of special skills which can be used when working with young people and their families: eg. therapeutic mentoring; mental health first aid; safeguarding; managing challenging behaviour; academic support in the classroom.

This exciting and varied role will provide you with a wide range of experiences, including:
keyworking individual students
developing your skills in working with children with SEMH/ASD/Mental Health difficulties
supporting learning both in and out of the classroom
co-planning and supporting a variety of creative activities
