Further details about the role

LEO Academy Trust is committed to developing a family of schools, where collaboration makes a real difference for our children, staff and families. We are looking to appoint outstanding class teachers on a permanent basis from September 2023. This is a fantastic opportunity to work as part of established teams and to bring high standards of teaching and learning to our Trust.

We have a popular and successful ECT Programme, and are inviting applications from those who will have gained QTS before September 2023.

We also invite applications from experienced teachers and aspiring or established middle leaders, and would be delighted to discuss with you this next phase of your career.

The Trust currently has 7 academies over 8 sites across Sutton and Surrey. It is expected that additional Surrey schools will join the Trust during 2023.

Successful applicants will initially be confirmed as appointed to the Trust, and during the Summer term confirmation of the assigned school will be provided.

There may be some travel between sites on occasion, for example to attend training opportunities.

Commitment to safeguarding

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975, 2013 and 2020. All employees of the Trust are deemed to be in regulated activity with children and as such, all offers of employment are subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and for this role, a prohibition from teaching check will be completed amongst other checks as appropriate.

All shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a declaration regarding offences and have references requested (unless agreed otherwise), prior to the interview.

Brookfield Primary Academy is one of 7 schools that make up LEO Academy Trust. Located in North Cheam, Brookfield is a two form primary with nursery offering 30 hours childcare. Brookfield was inspected by Ofsted in July 2019 and was found to be good in all categories. The inspectors found that "Leaders, governors and representatives of the trust have a very clear vision for what they want pupils to experience and achieve while at Brookfield. They have an accurate understanding of the school’s strengths and use this to plan effectively for improvement. There is a real focus on raising standards. Consequently, many outcomes are better than when the school first joined the trust."
