Level 1 Learning Support Assistant EAL job summary
We are looking for a candidate who can evidence commitment, enthusiasm and an understanding of and sensitivity to, the needs and feelings of pupils who experience difficulties.
Working under the guidance of teaching staff to implement agreed work with individuals and groups in and out of the classroom, particularly within EAL. This will include the use of specialist knowledge and assisting the teacher in planning, preparation of resources and withdrawal work to support English language development. The ability to speak Pashto or Urdu would be desirable.
The candidate will work with pupils with a range of difficulties including EAL/SEN to enable them to experience the broad and balanced curriculum which is their right. The candidate may also be involved in other duties including supporting the Extended Schools agenda. This post includes two whole school duties per week.
The candidate will be truly committed to supporting pupils to achieve and have high aspirations for the pupils’ success. Our school has a focus on delivering a core curriculum as a priority to support all learning; all learning support assistants are required to support both literacy and numeracy alongside the specific need of the pupil(s).
