Salary: Meridian Support Staff Pay Scales

Level 1: Grade 4 point 3 to 5 - Actual Annual Salary - £17,206 to £17,783 (FTE £22,737 to £23,500)

Level 2: Grade 5 point 5 to 7 - Actual Annual Salary - £20,246 to £20,930 (FTE £23,500 to £24,294)

Hours of Work:

Level 1: 32.5 hours per week - 8.30am to 3.15pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and 8.30am to 4.30pm Tuesday

Level 2: 37 hours per week – 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 4pm Friday

Term time plus 5 dedicated staff training days (39 weeks)

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational and enthusiastic Level 1 or Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our brand-new school, which opened in September 2023. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in opening a new school; getting it right from day one.

The role is to assist the classroom teacher in the support and inclusion of children. To support access to learning for students and encourage interaction and independence. The role of Teaching Assistant is a vital but complex one; offering support and encouragement when needed, working alongside the teacher to make work accessible and relevant, but also ensuring that students work as independently as possible and are able to grow and thrive.

The successful candidate will have an uncompromising commitment to student achievement with a mind-set that all young people can experience success. Weldon Village Academy will grow year by year, from an initial intake of 120 Year 7s in September 2023, until eventually reaching its full capacity of 1500, including a 6th form of 300 students.
