Vacancy for Level 1 Teaching Assistant

Salary: Grade 4, Point 3-5

Hours of work: 32.5 hours per week, 38 weeks per year.

We are seeking a passionate, creative, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at North Cambridge Academy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is committed to helping students reach their full potential. You will support learning by tailoring resources to meet individual needs, thinking of new ways to learn and creating a positive, inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Our Teaching Assistants are highly valued members of our school community. You will work closely with our SENDCo and SEND team to ensure that students with additional needs receive the support needed. An element of your duties will also include preparation of high-quality teaching resources and class displays.

  • Supervise activities for small groups or 1:1, enabling all students to reach their potential.
  • Encourage and promote the inclusion and acceptance of all students.
  • Establish and maintain supportive relationships.
  • Join a dedicated, enthusiastic and supportive team.

The ideal candidate

  • Holds a good educational background with GCSE or equivalent in English Language.
  • Understands how children learn.
  • Is skilled at developing children’s self-esteem and motivation so that they become resilient, independent learners.
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to develop and sustain positive relationships with pupils.
